GestureSync Pro
1. Introducing Band-1
A smartwatch called Band-1 was created with gesture control in mind. The watch is capable of identifying various hand motions, like double-tapping two fingers, clapping, and snapping, thanks to a range of inbuilt sensors and algorithms. Then, these movements serve as a catalyst for programmable events, such managing electronics or Internet of Things devices. The companion app will work with Home Assistant, IFTTT, Google Home, HomeKit, and more.
Band-1 will include a multitude of networking and health functions in addition to gestures. Onboard sensors monitor deep and core sleep stages as well as REM sleep. There is also a display of wake times. In addition, Band-1 has continuous blood oxygen monitoring and ECG generation capabilities. Heart rate zones and automatic workout identification guarantee that workouts are appropriately monitored in the appropriate mode.
2. Gesture Detection
An inbuilt piezo sensor in Band-1 is used to identify minute vibrations on the skin. These vibrating patterns are transformed into voltage, which is then processed by a neural network to enable pre-programmed activities like connecting with other electronics or Internet of Things devices. In addition to micro-vibrations, the Band-1 has a 6-axis accelerometer that can recognize motions like rotating and swiping.
3. Band-1 in the World
4. Inside the Band-1
Band-1 is made to be readily upgraded and repaired by the user. Four screws hold the assembly together as a whole. The device's battery is a readily available, off-the-shelf part that makes replacements simple. Access to the PCB is also available for developers and repairs. With its standard 20mm quick-release mechanism, the watch band lets users swap it out for any other band they like.
5. Software
In addition to providing health features and the ability to set up and train bespoke motions, the Band-1 companion software also allows users to locate misplaced devices. In order to initiate a response when the gesture is recognized, users can select from five predefined motions or teach their own. They can then link to services like IFTTT, Google Home, Home Kit, or their phone. The device's integrated oxygen meter continuously measures oxygen saturation levels and breathing irregularities, showing the information within the app. This, along with SpO2 data, enables the watch to provide users with a sleep score. The device's integrated ECG sensor tracks the user's heart rate and synchronizes it with the application.
6. For Makers and Developers
Band-1 will be released with a public API and be open-sourced. This will give further integrations to the rest of the user base and enable experienced users to make innovative use of the onboard sensors. To demonstrate the potential of Band-1, we combined an off-the-shelf drone with an integrated gyro and accelerometer.
